EISENSTEIN IN GUANAJUATO, the new film by Peter Greenaway, is selected for the official competition of the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival. It’s been ten years since the last Dutch movie was selected for a Golden Bear. >>

Today, Thursday 30th January, Peter Greenaway has started shooting his new film in Mexico, Eisenstein in Guanajuato. It is a feature film about the world's greatest filmmaker, with Finnish actor Elmer Bäck (The Spiral) playing the title role of Sergei Eisenstein. This international co-production is led by producers Bruno Felix and Femke Wolting from Submarine (Last Hijack, Meet the Fokkens, Rembrandt’s j’Accuse) and San Fu Maltha from Fu Works (Blackbook, Winter in Wartime, Süskind and Kenau). The entire film will be shot in Guanajuato, Mexico. >>

Marc Bechtold has been nominated for a golden calf for Milo in the category best editor on the Dutch film festival. The film festival nominates the most esteemed film of the year i.a. best music, best directing, best actric/actor and best editing. The award ceremony will take place on the 4th of October in Utrecht. >>

Last Tuesday the Dutch film festival announced that The Blitz is part of the top 3 films nominated for the audience award. The blitz won two important film prices in Amerika last year. The special jury award in Houston, Texas and the audience award in Stony Brook, New York. Hopefully we can add the audience award from the Dutch film festival. The blitz is based on the events on the 14th of May in 1940, the blitz of Rotterdam. >>
